Hello, hi, howdy! My name's Teresa M. I'm a Londoner, an aspiring musician (studying BMus Music),20 years young, and a girlfriend (and have been since 27.07.09!). I love the colour green, collecting things that I don't need, playing piano, listening to music, going places, and.... smiling :). I decided to create this tumblr aside from my other one (tjmm.tumblr.com) purely so I could post things that come directly form me. It'll be an actual blog - comprising things that happen in my life, things that I want to say, and things around those lines! So I guess - if anyone is even reading this - I hope you enjoy!

Philippines - Images

Hello!
I finally found the USB cable to connect my phone to my laptop! :)
So….. *drumroll* here comes the pictures I took from Philippines! They’re honestly not that great - in both quality and content (way to advertise myself, huh?!), but you can still view them and get a little taste of Philippines!
Just click here > http://www.flickr.com/photos/68704705@N06/sets/72157628841023713/ :)
I know I said I have a lot to say, but maybe another time. I’m having one of those days where I just can’t be bothered to do anything else but laze around haha! :P

Home, sweet home!

What a holiday!

I just about got back from an approximate 2 week holiday from Philippines, and despite my unwillingness to go before - as seen in my past posts - I really enjoyed myself. Now, whether this be because I set myself up for a lot of disappointment so that anything would impress me, I don’t know - but the important thing is I feel like I had fun LOL. I really miss it in fact. I miss the attitude of the people, the weather (I’m not a fan of the summer as many people will know - really - I probably piss everyone off with the amount of complaining I do in the summer LOL… but that’s the summer in England: it feels so dirty. For some reason, as polluted as Philippines is, the hotness doesn’t feel as unpleasant as it does over here :S), the noise, the travel, the food, my family & friends, the malls, the TV shows that I got hooked on, the random chickens on the road… almost everything! 2 weeks really wasn’t enough there, and to make it even shorter, our trip was delayed by 2 whole days because of the damn strikes in Paris and bad service by Air France/China Southern. I don’t want to bore you with all of that stuff though - we’re talking about Philippines here, not the journeys to and from!

There were just a few things that I didn’t really like in Fili. First of all, there’s this crazy obsession with being light-skinned, and being skinny & I was unfortunately able to experience this first-handedly since I’m not the darkest of filipinos (nor am I the lightest of filipinos - but there we go) and I’m not exactly size 0! Let’s start with the whole weight issue. I know for myself that I’ve put on a lot of weight in the past 2 years - and have gone up 2 (sadly, almost 3) dress sizes within that time! So obviously, my new shape/size might come as a shock to people who haven’t seen me in a while (7 years for those in Fili) but I don’t need telling - I really don’t! Some people were just so unnecessarily rude in Philippines - it’s unbelievable - I mean I know, some people over there can be brutally honest.. but this was just :|….. I have no words!

One of my aunties came to visit with my cousins and the first thing she said was ‘OMG, you’re so fat!!!’ - nevermind the whole ‘Hi! How have you been? It’s so good to see you!’ - that bit wasn’t there at all! At first, I let it slip, because I expected some brutal honesty from some people anyway, but then she kept pushing it on: later on she’d say, ‘At least your cousins are all slim! How did you get so fat?’ and then, to my cousins, ‘How is the present you got her going to fit her when she’s so fat?’ … even though it did fit me when I tried it on :@. Then, another day, one of my aunties walked into the house and asked me how many months pregnant I am! And when I told her I wasn’t, she gave a disgusted look and said ‘OMG, really? You’re so big!’. Way to boost my confidence up, guys. *clap*. On the other hand, people did say that I was ‘really pretty’, which was nice to hear - just because they managed to look past my weight, and because no one really says it anyway, haha!! But I don’t know whether this was because of my skin tone or not! Ahh well. Like I said, it was nice to hear XD.

It’s definitely good to be back home though, but I can’t wait for the next holiday to Philippines! Hopefully next time it’ll be a month long, and hopefully it won’t be too long until then! :) Sorry about the briefness of this. I have so, so much to say but don’t want to scare you off with a 2000-word long post haha. I have some pictures to share - and when I do share them, I’ll probably share some more stories… if I can even remember - but I lost the USB cable for my phone - so until Amazon send over the new one I ordered, take care of yourselves, my dear readers (if there are any readers at all :P haha!)

Off to Philippines - will be back on the 5th (but will blog somewhere like.. a couple of days after!) with loads of things to say! ;)

“There is nothing more prized on this earth than true friendship.”

Krispy Kreme

(quote by Thomas Aquinas)

This might be a long’un guys!

You know what I really love? When you have friends so close that even if you don’t see them often, your friendship remains untouched and still as strong as ever!

I haven’t been able to see much people because of all the travelling up and down uni, staying in uni for hours on end per day to make my time there worth it, the piles of assignments that I just got rid of recently taking up heaps of my time… but today I saw two of my best friends: Thuy (who I’ll refer to as ‘sis’ from now on - because that’s what we call each other normally LOL!) - who I last saw in like.. September! - and Zeyril (who I’ll refer to as ‘zey’! She’s my cousin… and she also has tumblr! - Click here > http://Zey-Is-Real.tumblr.com) - who I last saw in Nov! It was such a good day! We always give space to each other, and understand if we can’t see each other sometimes but whenever we do, it’s like we’ve never been away from each other for long - like we’ve been seeing each other every day! It’s so nice. :)

I first met up with sis to go to the British Library to get some books out. We weren’t members so we had to pre-register online before going there; look up the books we wanted access to; then bring shelf locations of these books, and two forms of ID with us upon registration at the actual library. When we got there we were in awe of how big it actually was (probably an exaggeration… but it was bigger than we expected, haha!!) and got lost too. So we were walking around like headless chickens, and eventually found a map! Ha! The registration process was pretty quick, but because we hadn’t reserved any books before we went there, if we wanted the books we wanted we’d have to wait an hour or even a couple of days! How silly! Because of lack of time, we couldn’t wait an hour and had to leave :/. We arrived at Wood Green and sis had a craving for bubble tea so we decided to try out the new Bubble Tea place called ‘aobaba’. BAD SERVICE I have to say! One main flaw was this: there were pork buns there, and I asked what was inside. The man goes ‘I’m not sure - it might be pork, it might be lotus, it might be char siu… I’m not sure’…! Me and sis were like ‘O___o’ and he goes ‘they put it in there without telling me what they were!’. What even!? What. Even. Anyway, after our bubble tea fest, we headed our separate ways and I got ready to meet up with Zey!

Me & Zey planned our day out beforehand - we were to go cinema, eat, then go Krispy Kreme - and it went exactly how we wanted it to :). At the cinema, we watched NEW YEARS EVE - a film with like… LOADS of celebrities in it (a bit like Valentine’s Day). At first, I was thinking ‘wow, this is really jumpy (as in.. jumping from story to story) and slow moving (probably as a result of having to go from story to story - AND THERE WERE LOADS OF STORIES!)’ but like, towards the end, when it all started coming together, it got good! The stories started unfolding and it even got quite emotional at times. I’m not a fan of that girl-from-glee’s voice though, or her face >< haha. But yeah, it wasn’t bad! :). After that we did a heck of a lot of eating: we went to the chinese restaurant in wood green, and Krispy Kreme Enfield (lucky for us the hotlight was on! So we got complimentary donuts for a minimum purchase of 2 donuts!! - EXCITING TO SAY THE LEAST!). We wanted to take pictures of the hotlight being on, but by the time we got out, it was off - and there was no longer a point! We got reaaaaally full and found it really hard to walk, HAHA!.. nevertheless, we both had a lot of fun. :D

I hope you guys enjoyed your day as much as I did mine! :)

Today is going to be a good day..

I really don’t like the summer. I’ve mentioned this before quite a while back on my other Tumblr - I don’t like it because of the way everyone wears so little, the way everyone sweats and smells (which particularly gets on my nerves on the underground because my head usually finds itself at the same level as people-holding-onto-the-poles-to-keep-their-balance’s armpits and it’s not fun!), the hay fever, the way the air gets so hard to breathe in sometimes, etc. etc.! And as preparation for Philippines, I’ve been looking for some summer clothes in my wardrobe to pack away with me; but I’ve managed to find only 4/5 items! - Shows how much I avoid going out in the summer, haha. To be fair, Summer (in London) this year wasn’t that hot.. which could also explain why there’s a slight hole in that section of my wardrobe!

After being busy with uni - what with travelling and deadlines - I haven’t been able to go out properly with, or enjoy the company of my boyfriend. So we planned to see each other on Friday (09.12.2011) to hang out finally! It

The Breakfast Club

was a good day :).  One of the things we did that day was go to a place called ‘The Breakfast Club’ in Spitafields to eat some brunch! I had ‘Pancakes & Berries’ - a title that’s pretty self explanatory; and Tung had ‘The Full Monty’ - which is basically a full english! They came in really good-sized portions, and the venue in general was so relaxing! We both really enjoyed it, and highly recommend you go there! :D. Took some pictures, too! Here you go > http://lalumieredelalune.tumblr.com/breakfastclub!!! (It will open in a new window :D… Oh, the things I do for you! < just checked, and it doesn’t actually open in a new window despite the painstaking effort I put in to do it for you :’( sorry guys! haha)

There are just 8 days until I go to Philippines. Ahhhh. :( So I had my travel injections on Thursday morning. I was supposed to have 2 shots but the nurse accidentally gave me an extra THIRD injection I didn’t really need! What even?! That sure did shake up the faith I had in medical staff :| - you’d expect them to be careful with these things! Jeez!

Good day!

First of all, for the past 9 days or so, I’ve been more or less living in Founders library of Royal Holloway: literally, spending 10-14 hours there trying to get my assignments done to a satisfactory level, at least. No doubt it’s drained me of all my energy and more - it’s definitely been a busy week. Usually I’d give myself more than just over a week to do these but having tonsillitis kind of pushed it later and later :/. I had to fit these assignments into 9 days, and there were 4 to do, plus the expected approx. 4 hours of practicing a day. That meant that there had to be 2 days assigned to each: that included research/reading, planning, writing it up, proofreading - It was not easy. But today was deadline day and I finally got those essays off my back! Probably won’t get a very good mark for them, but at least I had something done I guess..

I’ve been looking for a house for quite some time now, it went from me looking for a room on my own, to me forming a group to look for a house together, for our group to split in half to look for a house, back to me looking for a room by myself. This ran over a course of around 3 months, and I finally saw a house around 2 weeks ago that was a reasonable price; with nice tenants; and a nice, clean environment! I really liked it, so decided to arrange to sign with it: which I did today! It’s such a relief to finally have a place sorted for next term. This 2 hour and a half journey back and forth egham/woodgreen has not been fun!

So. Good day. REALLY good day, & from now, I can finally see my friends, family and boyfriend. I’ve missed them all soooo much! But I’ve got around a week until I go to Philippines :(. Gah. I really don’t want to go, just because I don’t feel ready, and I don’t like the lizards. But we’ll see… maybe me setting myself for such disappointment means I’ll have loads of unexpected fun, haha. :)

Tomorrow: Injection. Eek!
